Million Pounds Of Rat Meat Being Sold As Boneless Chicken Wings In U.S

The WorldNewsDailyReport (WNDR) blog has reported that The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have seized various illegal containers that have their origins from China. These containers were seized at the Port of San Francisco, CA, by The Food and Drug Administration. They discovered rat meat which was intended to be delivered to various meat processing plants throughout America and sold as chicken.

That is to say, the FDA inspectors caught and destroyed several thousands of pounds of rat meat which was illegal and they notify that there may have been 300, 000 more lbs. of counterfeit rat meat around America. This illegal meat, according to FDA could finish in many American plates for the time of the Super Bowl.

As Ronal Jones claims, the Super Bowl is a time when chicken wings are in high demand and many stores and restaurants often face penury during this period. He also said that in USA it is prohibited by law the sales and import of rat meat. This type of illegal meat is perfect for the illegal market. However, if it is properly cooked you need to know that the rat meat is not dangerous at all. Anyway, it is still illegal to be sold and imported.

Big business

Allen James, FBI coordinator, claims that people earn huge amounts of money by the counterfeited meat which is sold as chicken wings. Allen explains that every year they face with different situations. He said that last year they caught great amounts of opossum meat which was imported from Mexico. Many criminal organizations use the Super Bowl as a chance to earn easy money by: illegal gambling, illegal bets and counterfeit meat. If there is a chance to earn some money in an easy way there must be hundreds of people who would try that and make huge profit.

“No way to see the difference”

Although FDA inspectors have estimated the illegal counterfeit meat to be more than hundreds of thousands of pounds on the market, still customers are not able to see the difference.

Jenny Brookside, the FDA spokeswoman claims that it is too late for that meat which has already been sold on the market. She says that people can try and identify the quality of the meat that they buy but there is probably not even a chance for the customers to determine whether the meat in their plate is rat or chicken. She added that if the chicken wings have unusual taste, than the meat is probably contaminated. However, the difference of the taste may also indicate that there are different ingredients and spices in the meat.

The best way to protect yourself and your family is to eat homemade and un-processed meat. Statistics show that every year more than 36 million lbs. of counterfeit illegal meat has been sold in United States.
